The Friends of Simpson Library were named the 2026 Friends Group of the Year by the Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries! Our Friends have raised over $1.25 million dollars for Simpson Library just since 2008! Big news! We're changing some of our hours after Labor Day! Starting Tuesday, September 8, we will open at 9:00 am and close at 8:00 pm Monday to Thursday. The hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will remain the same.
Enjoy breakfast at Poached Restaurant (where Dieners used to be) on any (or every!) Wednesday in September, and Poached will donate 10% of the cost of your meal to the Friends. Don't forget a flyer!
It's always a good day for ice cream! Stop by Rakestraw's on 313 S. Market Street or their new location at 1347 Saxton Way for some ice cream on Wednesday, September 16 from 3:00 to 9:00 pm, and they will donate 15% of your bill to the Friends of Simpson Library!
